Summer Flower and Produce Fair – 10th July, Saturday 1-5pm, Uplyme Village Hall. The theme is Lavender and the Uplyme & Lyme Regis Horticultural Society will be awarding a prestigious new cup in the form of a small solid silver watering can, for the best exhibit in class. A full schedule of the 115 classes that people can enter and a printed programme of events can be picked up locally at Uplyme Stores, Raymonds Hill Post Office and Ginger Beer in Lyme Regis. Lyme Regis Fossil Festival – 10-11th July, Lyme Regis Beach, Marine Parade. Two fun packed days with live talks and lectures. Lifeboat Week – 24th July – 31st July. A week of family fun including the very popular Duck Race held in the river Lym. The programme is available to buy at the lifeboat station and many retail outlets in Lyme Regis with a donation to the RNLI ( suggested min. £2). Regatta & Carnival Week – Saturday 7-14th August. Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival Week is packed full of fun events and activities for all the family to enjoy, culminating in the Grand Carnival Procession. Events include a dog show, duck race, a town trail, egg catching, tombola, Tano Taiko drummers, welly wangling, gospel choir, children’s beach treasure hunt, sand pie challenge, and a family quiz night. Landance – Friday & Saturday, 10-11 September, 7:30pm, Below Marine Theatre. Landance in Lyme is a special dance and poetry performance. All are welcome at this free outside event starting below the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis. The performance will move along the seafront exploring the effects of climate change on coastal communities such as West Dorset. The event also celebrates this exceptional stretch of Jurassic Coast, which is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. The project has been developed with choreographer Alessandro Marzotto Levy, City of Bristol poet Vanessa Kisuule, and established and emerging dance artists. Lyme Regis Christmas Tree Festival – 16-19th December, Lyme Regis Baptist Church, The Pine Hall, 2 Sherborne Lane. Christmas trees decorated by local organisations will adorn the Pine Hall at Lyme Regis Baptist Church. People can wander through the displays during the four-day event and make donations to the organisations.
